Reading and Fluency Tutoring Pre-K-2nd

Service Description

Fast Readers is an ongoing tutoring class that will guide your student in becoming a fluent reader. Reading fluency is a complex skill that requires phonological awareness, phoneme segmentation, isolation, blending, and recognizing sight words. All of these skills build on the one prior to help students learn how to read. Learning blocks in any of these steps will results in reading complications in the future. In my experience with working with students who are struggling readers, many of their difficulties arise from a problem with one of the skills mentioned. In this course, I want to give students a solid foundation for them to become fluent readers which will help increase their reading comprehension. The course will begin with a formal reading fluency diagnostic to determine the needs of the students. Once I have the results of the diagnostic, I will create an individualized plan to meet the needs of your student. Pre-Reading Skills 1. Weekly sight words activities 2. Weekly phonics games, such as I-spy, memory, and digital games. 3. Alphabet sounds mastery. 3. Sound blending exercises and activities and reading practice. 4. Hands on practice using a digital white board. 5. Interactive slide presentations that make learning more engaging. 6. Progressive reading practice 7. Additional activities based on student needs 8. Membership to Brainzy online learning games 9. Account for Get epic digital library Intermediate Reader: 1. Fry grade level sight words 2. Weekly phonics games, such as I-spy, memory, and digital games. 3. Vowel Teams 4. Sound blending exercises and activities and reading practice. 5. Digraph, Trigraph consonant blending 5. Interactive slide presentations that make learning more engaging. 6. Progressive reading practice 7. Additional activities based on student needs 8. Membership to Brainzy online learning games 9.
